It’s All About Body Language - Even For Your Dog

I’m sure you’ve heard it before... anyone that has done any study on how to get where you want to go in personal development has heard that what you project with your body is how people perceive you, and how they will react to you. Ya know, same as what you think is what will happen.

Well, amazingly enough this is also true for your dog... it’s just that you can be totally in control of the reaction or movement you want your dog to do. If only you understood how your dog actually sees it and direct accordingly.

As professional dog trainers this stuff is really fun for us and we’ve found that the number of people we have been able to help with their dog through our live dog training webcasts is incredibly cool.

So come on and check it out ... Wednesday nights on www.GoTrainYourDog.com Dedicated to helping people and dogs through online dog training programs, webcasts, video & photos.

And of course if you’d like more you can always contact us for private lessons, or our highly sought after dog training camps done in San Diego.

Dog Training Encinitas

From Blogger Pictures

Saturday morning in Encinitas, CA. Even though it was a bit rainy for the likes of San Diego people and their dogs, this morning seemed to be very lively with people out and about on the 101 in North County San Diego.

We headed out for the beach with our own dogs to get some exercise early on and on the way stopped at Starbucks for coffee in Encinitas on the 101. So many people were out running their dogs, walking their dogs, or just going for coffee and taking the family dog on an outing.

As we sat outside and sipped our coffee and read the paper, a gentleman came along with the cutest little dog in the picture... and tied him off to the table next to the door of Starbucks so he could go in and order his much desired coffee drink of choice. As he was going, his small puppy was jumping at the door to go after him. I watched him diligently keep going back outside and putting his dog in a very nice sit. As he did it he looked over at us and said "he's in training".

Of course as a professional dog trainer I had such huge appreciation for this that I couldn't stop myself from offering to help him... so I told him no worries... you go in and I'll assist in keeping your dog in the position you left him in.

It was so cool. This little dog only needed a little assistance as was doing so well as people walked by, commented on him, had food and coffee in hand, and his owner was inside all the while.

A little advice on how to keep his dog in position when the owner came out and the explanation of how his dog learns and thinks in pictures and everyone was really happy.

Sometimes the feeling of just helping someone and their dog is the greatest! Get out and have some fun, enjoy your dog, get some exercise. We live in one of the greatest places in the world!

Obama Inauguration & Dog Training

The big day is just about here! The Obama inauguration happens tomorrow. There is much buzz about it for certain. We know many people including ourselves who are going to take time out of the day to watch it... more people than ever will be there in person, and we'll have a prime time spot right in front of the tv!

We'll go back to San Diego Private Dog Training Lessons and Dog Training Camps right after the news coverage. In the meantime the dogs will all be practicing a very nice "place" on beds lined up as a way to teach them how to be awesome dogs at home every day.

With the new President and his family come the new Obama dog. The decision is getting closer. Is it going to be a Labradoodle or a Portuguese Water Dog? There's still time for your vote to count... check which one you think it should be below. Fun dog stuff!

Dog Training & The Weight Loss Resolution

From 21 Day Challenge: Walk Your Dog Every Day

It's well into January of 2009, and the weight loss resolution is already well behind many who had great plans for it. So don't let another year go by and feel bad about not doing anything about it.

Really. Lets make it easy. If you are a dog owner commit to getting out and walking with your dog once a day. I know that sounds quite simple... but really it can be.

I was reading the other day that the average American puts on at least 2 pounds of fat per year. So it's no wonder you suddenly looked at yourself and said "what happened?" It's also true that people who have dogs and get out and exercise with them can stop that process.

And the really great thing is: your dog is going to be stoked AND end up much calmer, in fact you'll hear people making the comment, "I wish my dog was that well trained."

Many times it just comes down to exercise. Of course there is the dog that seems to be out of control so you just don't do it... but that's no problem. Dog training programs are available to help you QUICK. So get out today.

K9 Coach has dog training private lessons, dog training camps, & online dog training programs. Private lessons and camps done in San Diego & Temecula, CA and Taos, NM. Online dog training programs not only are available to anyone, anytime, anywhere, but also are a bonus to our private training programs.

So go ahead... stop the statistic of adding body fat every year... AND end up with the coolest dog around.

Which Dog Breed Should the Obama Family Take To The White House

As everyone knows if you are living in the US, we have a new President about to take office. This inauguration this takes place on this Tues, Jan 20th. The country as a whole is looking forward to some sort of change, though we may not know exactly what that is.

With a new President the tradition of a family White House dog comes as well. The Obama family has narrowed the search down to 2 breeds. The Labradoole or the Portuguese Water Dog. The Obama girls have some allergies that requires the family get a dog that is hypoallergenic, which is the reason for the choice between these two brees.

As dog trainers we find this fun news to follow up on and we thought we'd have some fun with the many "dog people" out there and have your vote count once again. Take the poll below and vote for which dog breed the Obama's should pick.

We'll be following up with dog training stories, dog walking stories and all sorts of fun dog news... so go ahead, let us know what you think. We'll keep up on the online dog stories & training for your next political conversation piece!
